Paul McComas

CEO, PhD, BCBA

Dr. Paul McComas, PhD, BCBA, is the founder of the Indiana ABA Institute and is a highly experienced behavior analyst with more than 20 years of clinical and leadership experience in the field. He established IABAI in 2010 with a simple but meaningful goal: to provide families in northeast Indiana with access to effective, evidence-based support for children with autism.

Dr. McComas’s path to becoming a behavior analyst began while working in group homes in Florida, where he trained under some of the earliest behavior analysts in the country. After returning to Indiana, he quickly recognized that access to high-quality applied behavior analysis (ABA) services in the Fort Wayne area was extremely limited. Motivated by the need he saw in the community, he founded IABAI to deliver services grounded in clinical excellence, ethical practice, and meaningful outcomes for families.

Since its founding, IABAI has grown into one of the largest and longest-standing ABA providers in northeast Indiana. Today, IABAI operates out of a 26,000-square-foot facility and provides services to individuals of all ages. The organization currently employs a team of 10 Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) along with a growing and dynamic team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and has had the privilege of serving hundreds of clients and families throughout the region. In 2024, IABAI expanded its services to include behavior management through the Indiana Medicaid Waiver, further increasing access to behavioral support services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. McComas has played a significant role in advancing the field of behavior analysis across Indiana. As a founding member and past President of the Hoosier Association for Behavior Analysis, he has been actively involved in promoting best practice standards, supporting professional development, and helping shape the quality of ABA services throughout the state. He also brings a strong background in teaching and training, having instructed future professionals at the university level and mentored clinicians throughout his career.

Dr. McComas’s leadership and experience continue to guide Indiana ABA Institute as it grows. Families who choose IABAI benefit from decades of expertise, a commitment to evidence-based care, and a team trained to deliver high-quality, individualized services. As the organization looks to the future, its mission remains rooted in the same principles that guided its founding: compassionate care, ethical practice, and meaningful progress for every learner and family it serves.
